2017 Recreational League Information

The main goal of the GAGSA Recreational League is to ensure that the players are in a fun, positive environment while learning and expanding their softball skills. Our rec league promotes a sense of belonging for everyone. We emphasize teamwork and the sense of individual success that contribute to team sports.

The league provides:

  • Clinics
  • Secondary medical insurance for players while participating in games or practices
  • Player uniform tops
  • Team and individual pictures and a participation trophy for each player
  • Field maintenance
  • Player equipment and supplies (note: all team equipment is shared)

Player is required to provide their own glove. Player may also bring, for personal use: bat, helmet with face mask, fielding face mask, cleats, or slider.

Costs:

Child 1 - $80 Registration + $15 *Capital Improvement fee + $40 **Volunteer fee (refunded at time of volunteering) 
Child 2 - $70 Registration + $15 *Capital Improvement fee + $40 **Volunteer fee (refunded at time of volunteering)
Child 3+ - $0 Registration, $15 *Capital Improvement fee + $40 **Volunteer fee (refunded at time of volunteering)

*Capital Improvement fee is in lieu of fundraising.

**$20 is refunded for each concession stand shift during the week for league games.
$40 is refunded for each 4 hour shift working in either the concession stand, grill or fields.

Draft will be February 28, 2017.

Pictures are April 1, 2017 at Southeast Polk High School. More details to come.

Rec league practices will begin in early April.  The date, time and number of practices will be determined by each coach.

Rec league games will be played in the evenings on Monday-Thursday.  The season starts in mid-May and is done by the end of June.

End of Season rec league tournament is scheduled for June 20-25, 2017.
